Auntie Sam: Welcome Madison Rayne

If being an aunt to my nephew Kaleb and my adopted niece McKenzie wasn't enough, let's add another baby to the family. Don't get me wrong I enjoy being titi (aunt) Sam, I can spoil my niece and nephew and send them back to their parents until they want to bombard my heart with more joy, laughter, hugs and love.

So, recently on June 30, my brother Albert and my sister- in-law Tiffany blessed us with a beautiful little girl. Baby Madison (Maddie for short) kept everyone waiting because of her delayed appearance. She was due June 17, but decided: hey you know what I'm going to bake a little longer.

So on the hot, humid day of  June 30th she made her appearance weighing, wait for it... 8 pounds, 5 ounces. She measured 21 and a half inches long. I would have never guessed she weighed that much when I held her at the hospital. I was quite surprised.

So, as the days pass I am looking forward to spending a lot of time spoiling Maddie with many kisses and as much love as her sister McKenzie and cousin Kaleb.

Maddie has so many people who love her. Of course my girls love baby Maddie so much and both were so excited to see and hold her. It was the sweetest thing I've seen in awhile.

I will say, I never imagined my brother Albert being the daddy type, but he seems to be doing a good job. I always giggle when he gets all uptight at certain things. He gets nervous and goes into panic mode a lot. It's funny hearing Tiffany say "babe I got this. It's not my first go round."

Yes, I know he's acting like every first time parent cautious and protective, hell I did it also, but seeing him do it shows how much he loves and cares for his daughter.

In a world were so many people are hating each other all it takes is the birth of a baby so innocent to bring a family together.

(Disclaimer) I am not saying go out and have babies.

What I am saying is that for a family like ours broken and dysfunctional baby Madison has brought us all closer together. That my friends is a start to something bigger than ourselves.

Now there's more to this story, simmer  down your thoughts and assumptions. It's not what you think. In the mist of all this I was able to face time with my mother and her facial expression was priceless when she saw Maddie for the first time.

Now she has five grandkids to spoil. Not only that she made a special appearance two days after Madison's birth. Nana as she is called showed all of us how awesome grandparents are to have in our lives. Many kids, my nephew and both my nieces are so blessed to have such a wonderful Nana.

And.... There's one more thing. Not only is June 30th Maddie's birthday, she also shares a birthday with her Uncle Joel (Willis) and her great grandma Rosa. When I called my grammy she said "I got a great gift for my birthday another baby born on my special day."

So there you have it folks....

So without further delay, welcome Madison Rayne Salto.
