Not Just a Birthday- Amelia's Story
I remember it as if it were yesterday, the day I became a mother. I spent several hours having contractions before going to the hospital. Once admitted, the nurse told me I was in active labor. I will tell you, everything I experienced from the morning sickness throughout my whole pregnancy, the months of bed rest and the hours of contractions were all worth it.
On February 22, 2010 my oldest daughter Amelia Mary made her appearance. Hearing her first cry and holding her in my arms brought me great joy. It is a type of joy that you have never felt before. The kind that knows there's hope for humanity.
Today Amelia, is a very intelligent, beautiful, happy young lady. She loves Kindergarten and her teacher. She enjoys doing to school everyday. She's been involved in several after-school clubs. She's also make student of the month.
Amelia brightens up everyone's day and will do her best to uplift your spirits. I am extremely blessed to have her as a daughter.
This year she wanted to celebrate her birthday at school with her classmates. She wanted a Frozen theme and my golly she got it. I brought her class cupcakes and the look of those 20 children's faces made my whole day. Afterward Amelia handed out goody bags and the children were so thrilled.
Amelia is such a humble child, and because of her sweet- nature she wanted to share her birthday with all her classmates. She wanted them to know even though it was her birthday she wanted them all to be a part of it.
If a child can think about how to make others feel good, so should us adults.... I tell you our children are the future.
Happy birthday Amelia.
Until Next time!
