Proud Mama Moment
As a mom, I may brag about any milestones or awards my kids receive. Come on let's be honest we are all guilty of it. I don't do it intentionally or to show the world my kids are better than yours. No, I do it because I am proud of them. Kids love being praised for things they do well. Trust me I know.
This proud mama moment is brought to you by my five-year-old daughter Amelia. Or Millie as we call her. Anyway Millie officially survived her first marking period of Kindergarten. I knew she would. She loves to learn and engage with other kids.
At the school she attends they have a C.A.R.E.ing behavior system. It's pretty much a behavior system to ensure children behave. . All the students start on Green which is good. Blue or purple comes rarely, but if given either the child has done something so exceptional or spectacular. No my daughter is a perfectionist.(Like her mom). She's made it to Purple twice and Blue several times.
A child who gets a yellow means they a bad day, but initially it means they had a warning in the classroom. Red means bad. There is an Orange, and it mean the child acted "really really bad" according to Millie.
Moving forward...Amelia received an award for having maintained a green or over for the first marking period. Now I know it may sound cheesy, but come-on my kid received an award for being well behaved.
If anything that makes me so happy that my child is respecting, listening and doing what she is told. That means everything I've taught her is not for nothing. So yes I am a proud mama. Proud that my daughter received her first award.
Until next time.
